A large part of the design
and project management activities of architect Garry Baverstock has included
a research component.
A number of grants have been
secured since 1975.
- Grant to publish
the book "Low Energy Buildings in Australia [Vol 1 Residential]"
(1983/84).
- Development of
the "tecto" computer thermal analysis program via a CSIRO
grant (1987/88).
- Development of
the "Tecto Pergola" [solar pergola systems] via a Forest Industries
and Commonwealth IR&D commencement grant (1982-1985).
- Monitoring and
Evaluation of Thermal Inertia in Commercial Buildings via a AEDB grant
[WA government] (1990-1993).
- Performance Evaluation
of the Perth Zoo AEDB/CEED funding grant. It was a joint venture project
with the university.
- Investigation of
Energy Efficiency of Government Primary Schools in Western Australia.
Funded by DHW and the Education Department (2001-2002).
Tecto Research is
interested in projects concerning the use of solar energy in the building
industry, and architectural science in relation to energy efficiency and
passive solar design.
